FREE EARLY CHILDHOOD SCREENING

Sponsored by Gibson County School district and Tennessee Early Intervention System. An Early Childhood Screening for children ages birth to 5 who reside in Gibson County Special School district will be held April 9th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dyer Elementary School Library. Screenings are free and will include speech, language, vision, hearing, and development. Children learn more during the first five years of life than any other time. Give your child every opportunity to learn and develop to his/her full potential. Appointments are not required, and information about programs and services will be available. GCSSD BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING

The Gibson County Special School District Board of Trustees will have the regular meeting on Thursday, April 9th in the Medina Middle School library at 6:30 p.m.

TEAPOT TROT

The Northwest Gibson County YMCA will be hosting the Annual 5K Trenton Teapot Trot on Monday, April 27, at 6:00 pm. Pre- Registration is $20 for adults and $15 for youth ages 17 & under. Day of race Registration is $25. The 7th Annual Dyer First Baptist Church Tanya Taylor Family Memorial Benefit Ride will be held May 3, 2015. The cost is $20 per bike and includes lunch (BBQ sandwiches) and one t-shirt. "GLOW" FOR CANCER 5K

The LIFT Wellness Center, Sports Plus Rehab Centers, Sports Plus Aquatherapies and the Kirkland Cancer Center are inviting the community to the first Glow Out Cancer 5 K. The race starts at the Lift Wellness Center on April 16 and proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Registration will begin at 6 p.m. and the race starts at 7 p.m. Put your best glow on to see who can "glow" the most! TB Lighting will sponsor a black light finish! You can pre-register via website until midnight April 14 for $25 or there will be a $30 registration fee the day of the event. Gibson County High School held its 4th Annual Pioneers Football Lift-a-thon last Tuesday night in the indoor turf room. A host of parents and spectators were in attendance to witness the players compete against each other for the highest total weight.
