FREE EARLY CHILDHOOD SCREENING

Sponsored by Gibson County School district and Tennessee Early Intervention System. An Early Childhood Screening for children ages birth to 5 who reside in Gibson County Special School district will be held April 9th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dyer Elementary School Library. Screenings are free and will include speech, language, vision, hearing, and development. Children learn more during the first five years of life than any other time. Give your child every opportunity to learn and develop to his/her full potential. Appointments are not required, and information about programs and services will be available. GCSSD BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING

The Gibson County Special School District Board of Trustees will have the regular meeting on Thursday, April 9th in the Medina Middle School library at 6:30 p.m.

The Northwest Gibson County YMCA will be hosting the Annual 5K Trenton Teapot Trot on Monday, April 27, at 6:00 pm. Pre- Registration is $20 for adults and $15 for youth ages 17 & under. The 7th Annual Dyer First Baptist Church Tanya Taylor Family Memorial Benefit Ride will be held May 3, 2015. The cost is $20 per bike and includes lunch (BBQ sandwiches) and one t-shirt. The LIFT Wellness Center, Sports Plus Rehab Centers, Sports Plus Aquatherapies and the Kirkland Cancer Center are inviting the community to the first Glow Out Cancer 5 K. The race starts at the Lift Wellness Center on April 16 and proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Gibson County Football field was very busy, Tuesday, March 17th.  Due to unfavorable field conditions of the Dyer school practice field, the high school and jr. high soccer matches against Milan were  moved.

Immediately following the high school matchup, the  co-ed Jr. Pioneer soccer team took the field. This team consists of boys and girls from the Dyer, Rutherford, Yorkville and Spring Hill area Jr. High schools.  Their match was also against the Milan Bulldogs Jr. High team., which is also a co-ed team.
